44-Year-Old Killed After Being Struck By Car While Working On Pickup Truck On Blue Point Road
A man who was working on a pickup truck on a Long Island roadway was killed after being struck by a car. It happened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Blue Point. A 54-year-old East Patchogue woman was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Kennedy Avenue near Pine Street when the vehicle struck a man working on a 2006 Dodge Ram parked on the northbound side of the road. Seen Him? Missing Man Last Seen At Long Island McDonald's
Authorities are asking for help in locating a missing Long Island man. John Dowling, age 63, was last seen at the Plainview McDonald’s located at 818 Old Country Road, at around 11:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 21. He was reported missing an hour later. Nassau County Police said Dowling is 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, with gray hair, a gray mustache, and brown eyes. He was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans. Combative Driver Injures Officer After Crash On Long Island, Police Say
A man is accused of assaulting a police officer following a car crash on Long Island. The incident happened in Bellmore, near the intersection of Bellmore Avenue and Merrick Road, shortly before 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. Nassau County Police said 63-year-old Charles Klimovich, of Bellmore, was involved in a car crash and refused to give officers his information to document the incident. Person Hospitalized After 2-Vehicle Coram Crash
A person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle overnight Long Island crash. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Coram. A 47-year-old Coram man was riding a bicycle northbound on West Yaphank Road, south of Beach Lane, when he was struck by a northbound 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 48-year-old woman. Woman Attacked By Dog At Long Island Home
A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition. The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

A teenager was apprehended after authorities say he brought a gun to his school on Long Island. The 14-year-old at William Floyd High School in Mastic Beach was being interviewed by a school administrator on an unrelated matter when the student was found to have a loaded gun. A man has died from injuries several days after a hit-and-run crash on Long Island. The victim was struck by a vehicle in Elmont at around 4:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 while crossing Hempstead Turnpike at Elmont Road. The vehicle left the scene westbound on Hempstead Turnpike, Nassau County Police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. 20-Year-Old Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Cars, Tree On Long Island
A motorist was airlifted to the hospital after slamming into several cars and a tree on a Long Island roadway. The crash occurred at 4:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 17, in Elmont. A 20-year-old driver of a 1999 red Honda struck two parked cars and a tree on Carnegie Avenue., causing the vehicle to overturn.
