Police To Target Aggressive Drivers In Town In Region: Here's Where
As aggressive drivers flood the roadways, a town in the region will increase traffic enforcement to address the issue. The patrols will occur in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie in the coming weeks. According to the town of Poughkeepsie Police, officers will actively monitor for violations such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, passing red lights, and other dangerous driving behaviors. "Our goal is to enhance road safety and ensure a secure driving environment for everyone," the department said. The enforcement will take place throughout the town limits.

Car Flips On Roof In Crash In Region
A car overturned following a crash on a road in the region. The incident happened just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3, in Northern Westchester when the car flipped on the eastern half of Colabaugh Pond Road in Croton-on-Hudson, according to the village's fire department. Arriving first responders found that the driver had managed to escape the vehicle on his own. The driver later declined a trip to the hospital after being evaluated. The cause of the crash was not released.

Car Crashes Over Guardrail, Causing Road Closure In Region
A busy Hudson Valley road was closed for around an hour after a vehicle crashed over the guardrail into the woods. The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Aug. 18 around 3:30 p.m., when a car crashed over a guardrail on Route 32 (Crane Road) in the area of Angela Drive in the town of Carmel, according to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department. No injuries were reported and both the driver and passenger refused ambulance trips. Route 32 was closed for about an hour as the vehicle was towed away.

Woman Seriously Injured In 2-Vehicle Hudson Valley Crash
A two-vehicle crash in the Hudson Valley seriously injured a woman. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, on Route 9 near Rochambeau Lane in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Capt. Michael O'Dowd of the town of Poughkeepsie Police said a 2017 Chevrolet sedan driven by a Poughkeepsie man made a left turn from the southbound side of South Road into the northbound side of South Road. A 63-year-old man was shot once by a New York State trooper after he allegedly drove toward a police officer at a high rate of speed after threatening them with a gun. Firefighters raced into action after a car was consumed by flames on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The blaze happened on Thursday, June 12 just after 8 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on the Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, according to the village's fire department.
