Tractor-Trailer Kills Pedestrian Standing In Roadway On Long Island A tractor-trailer struck and killed a pedestrian who was standing in the roadway on Long Island late Thursday night, police said. The victim, who has not yet been identified, was hit on Station Road, south of Martha Avenue, in North Bellport at approximately 10:35 p.m. Thursday, June 25, according to Suffolk County Police. Detectives said the man was in the roadway when he was struck by a southbound tractor-trailer. He was taken to NYU Langone Hospital–Suffolk in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
