Lelis Zavala, 23, of Oyster Bay, was cited for an illegal speed contest and reckless driving after officers from the Street Takeover Task Force spotted his 2018 Toyota Corolla racing another vehicle near Exit 59 around midnight, according to police. Zavala was slapped with eight additional vehicle and traffic infractions. His car was impounded, and he is set to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on March 28.
