An Albany County man accused of killing a 6-year-old baby who had methamphetamines in his system was offered a plea deal on Friday, Aug 9, authorities said. Anthony Ojeda, 42, of Cohoes, is charged with murder in the second degree, manslaughter in the first degree, and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the 2019 death of Eli Ojeda, the Albany District Attorney's Office said. Police arrested five boys — the youngest being 15 — after they found illegal pistols during a routine traffic stop on Wednesday, Aug. 8, in Rensselaer County, authortiies said. A 14-year-old boy was hit and killed by a truck after he allegedly rode in front of it. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, on Vassar Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. A 40-year-old Wilton man is believed to have been drunk when he rolled his truck during a single-vehicle crash that ejected two young boys from the truck's bed and into the hospital, authorities said. Alert Issued For Capital Region Woman Missing Several Weeks
Police are asking for help in locating a woman from the region who has been missing for several weeks. Schoharie County resident Carlie Mace was officially reported missing on Monday, Aug. 5, weeks after relatives last had contact with her. Sheriff’s officials said her last known location was in Schenectady. Mace is 5-foot-6 and 210 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Police are warning Uber and Lyft customers to be on the lookout for fake rideshare drivers. In Saratoga County, the Saratoga Springs Police Department received multiple complaints about people pretending to work for rideshare companies and accepting fares around the Saratoga Racetrack and downtown areas. Body Of Man Who Jumped From Hudson Valley Bridge Recovered
The body of a man who jumped from a bridge in the region has been recovered. The incident occurred on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Saturday, Aug. 3. A man threatening to jump from a bridge in the region was saved by a police officer. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the Mid-Hudson Bridge in Poughkeepsie around 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.
