Drunk Driver From Region Crashes Into Barn, Police Say
A man from the region was arrested for driving drunk after hitting a parked car and then slamming into a barn. The incident took place in Monroe County in Rochester around 11:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 4 on Washington Street. Sullivan County resident Matthew Goldsmith, age 31, of Kauneonga Lake, was arrested after he allegedly drove his GMC pickup truck through an intersection and into a driveway, said Lt. Drunk Driver Crashes Into Cruiser In Hudson Valley, Police Say
Two men are facing charges for allegedly driving drunk in the area, one of whom struck a New York State Police trooper in the Hudson Valley, authorities announced. A trooper on patrol in Rockland County shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 19 responded to a stretch of the Palisades Parkway near exit 16 in Stony Point, where there was a report of a single-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, police said that the trooper found a 2011 Toyota Camry in the median with a rear driver-side flat tire and damage to the passenger side of the car. Severe Winds Topple Large Tree On Top Of Two Vehicles In Area
Severe winds in the Hudson Valley overnight toppled a large tree on top of two vehicles, causing extensive damage. The tree came down around 12:55 p.m., Saturday, March 13, in the area of Hommelville Road, in Saugerties, where other trees and wires were down in the area, Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Sinagra said. Both vehicles were severally damaged, the chief said.
