New York Attorney General Letitia James announced on Tuesday, Aug. 13, the indictments and arrests of Ulster County residents Frank Whittaker, age 56, of Kingston, and his daughter Christine Ellsworth, age 38, of Accord, for allegedly stealing more than $280,000 from a vulnerable elderly victim. Boy Killed After Being Struck By Truck In Hudson Valley A 14-year-old boy was hit and killed by a truck after he allegedly rode in front of it. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, on Vassar Road in the town of Poughkeepsie. According to Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Ralph Cropley, at the time of the crash, a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck was being driven by a 60-year-old resident of the town of Poughkeepsie in a southerly direction on Vassar Road. Crash Slows Traffic On Busy Hudson Valley Roadway A collision involving a truck impacted traffic on a busy route in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, July 17, when vehicles collided on Route 9 near the entrance of The Bird & Bottle Inn, according to the Garrison Volunteer Fire Company. Arriving first responders found the drivers out of their vehicles and stayed at the scene to control traffic and clean debris. The vehicles involved in the crash, including a truck, were later towed away.

Hudson Valley Man Killed In Crash Between Truck, Car A Hudson Valley man was killed in a two-vehicle crash. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 8 a.m., Thursday, June 13, on Route 52 at the intersection of Leetown Road in the town of East Fishkill.
