Police To Target Aggressive Drivers In This Hudson Valley Town As aggressive drivers flood the roadways, a town in the region will increase traffic enforcement to address the issue. The patrols will occur in Dutchess County in the town of Poughkeepsie in the coming weeks. According to the town of Poughkeepsie Police, officers will actively monitor for violations such as speeding, unsafe lane changes, passing red lights, and other dangerous driving behaviors.  "Our goal is to enhance road safety and ensure a secure driving environment for everyone," the department said. The enforcement will take place throughout the town limits.

Police Announce Results Of Targeted Speed Enforcement Detail In Northern Westchester State Police announced the results of a targeted speed enforcement detail that was implemented in Northern Westchester County. New York State Police conducted the enforcement detail on Monday, Dec. 20, on State Route 9 in the town of Cortlandt and the village of Croton-on-Hudson. Police said 26 tickets were issued during the enforcement period, including 22 for speed-related offenses. State Police said speeding is a contributing factor in nearly one-third of the state's fatal crashes.
