The positive COVID-19 infection rate in the Hudson Valley rose for the fifth straight day, as the number of newly confirmed cases topped 1,000 for the first time this week.
According to the state Department of Health, the average seven-day COVID-19 infection rate rose in the Hudson Valley for the fifth straight day, up from 4.49 percent on Friday, March 12 to 4.67 percent on Tuesday, March 16, the highest rate in the state, ahead of Long Island (4.50 percent), and New York City (4.18 percent).

Covid-19: Hudson Valley Sees 1,200-Plus New Cases; Latest Breakdown By County
The Hudson Valley saw more than 1,200 new COVID-19 infections, according to information released by state health officials on Saturday, Dec. 26.
There are currently 792 patients hospitalized with COVID in the Hudson Valley, with 35 percent of hospital beds available in the region's seven counties.
A total of 379 of 681 ICU beds are occupied, with 41 percent available.

Covid-19: Hudson Valley Positive-Test Rate Spikes To 6.6 Percent; Latest County Totals
The Hudson Valley saw the positive rate for COVID-19 testing spike a full percentage point, according to data released by the state on Friday, Dec. 4.
The positive testing rate in all focus areas under New York State's Micro-Cluster strategy is 7.35 percent, and outside the focus zone areas is 4.79 percent.
Within the focus areas, 50,367 test results were reported Thursday, Dec. 3, yielding 3,701 positives.
In the remainder of the state, not counting these focus areas, 157,930 test results were reported, yielding 7,570 positives.

There are now more than 1,000 active COVID-19 cases in Ulster and Sullivan County as the numbers continue to spike to record highs.
In Ulster County, the state Department of Health was reporting that there were 107 newly confirmed cases, with 18 in Sullivan County in the past 24 hours as the second wave of the virus sweeps through the Hudson Valley.

On Monday, Sept. 28, there were 9,948 people tested in the Hudson Valley, with 202 returning positive, bringing the infection rate to 2 percent, ahead of Western New York (1.3 percent), New York City (1.3 percent), and Long Island (1.2 percent).

Covid-19: NY, NJ, CT Join New Multi-State Consortium For Medical Supplies
On Day 64 of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut announced the formation of a joint seven-state agreement to develop a regional supply chain for personal protective equipment, other medical equipment and testing.

A total of 35 counties in New York State have now been approved to have hospitals resume elective outpatient treatments amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo previously announced that the state will allow elective outpatient treatments to resume in counties and hospitals without significant risk of COVID-19 surge in the near term.

Covid-19: 5,146 New Cases Bring NY Total To 30,811, Now Accounting For 52 Percent In Country
There have been 5,146 new confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) reported in New York as the state’s total rose to 30,811, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said at a news conference on Monday, March 25 in Albany.
New York’s 30,811 COVID-19 cases are nearly 10 times more cases than the nearest states - New Jersey, California, Washington and Michigan - have seen, though Cuomo said that the social distancing efforts may be slowly working. As a percentage, New York State COVID-19 cases account for 52 percent of the 58,998 in the United States. New York City's 17,856 cases are 30 percent of US cases.
