A 32-year-old woman from the region was charged with felony attempted purse snatching and assault after allegedly trying to grab a woman's purse, knocking her down, and breaking her wrist.
Sullivan County resident Jessica J. Myers, of Monticello was charged on Monday, Aug. 7 for the Monday, July 31 incident that took place on Broadway in the village of Monticello.
Myers attempted to forcibly steal a purse from a 56-year-old woman, who did not know Myers, said Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police.

Sullivan County resident John T. Lomio, age 36, of Yulan, was charged on Monday, July 31, in the town of Highland.
Sullivan County sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant on Monday, July 31, at Lomio's mobile office trailer known as the Green Room, in the parking lot of River's Edge Restaurant and Motel located at the intersection of Routes 97 and 55 in the hamlet of Barryville, said Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty.

Orange County resident, James A. Grant Jr., age 74, Pine Bush, was arrested on Wednesday, July 26 for an incident that took place on Wednesday, July 19.
On July 19, troopers in Sullivan County responded to Main Street in the village of Bloomingburg around 9 p.m., for a report of a male exposing himself and attempting to lure children to him, said Trooper Steven Nevel.

In Sullivan County, a State Police trooper stopped Tyquan Robinson, age 32, of New York City, at around 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, as he drove on Route 17 in the Town of Rockland.

Only a few days after a freakish storm system brought historic flooding to the Hudson Valley, severe weather is unleashing more destruction, resulting in over 10,000 people being left without power as of late Friday morning, July 14.
