Man Steals Over $6K From Gas Station, Then Drives Wrong Way On Road, Fights Cops In Westchester
A Long Island man faces grand larceny charges after robbing a gas station before leading authorities on a multi-county chase and fighting officers in Westchester, police said.
The incident began on Wednesday, March 1, around 5:15 a.m., when sheriff's deputies in Putnam County were sent to a Gulf gas station in Southeast at 1565 Route 22 for an armed robbery, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

The NYPD officer from Long Island who was shot attempting to buy an SUV has been identified and a suspect has been arrested at a Hudson Valley Days Inn.
NYPD Officer Adeed Fayaz, age 26, of Deer Park, in Suffolk County, is in "grave condition," and "fighting for his life," at Brookdale Hospital, said Keechant Sewell, NYC Police Commissioner.
His alleged assailant, identified as Randy Jones, age 38, of Manhattan, was tracked by NYPD officers in a 2010 Acura to Rockland County and the Days Inn in Nanuet, said NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig.
