An early spring cold snap that has made it feel more like late January than late March will be followed by the arrival of a new storm system that will lead to a return of more seasonable temperatures. Memorial Day Weekend will get off to a dreary start before skies clear and a bit of a warming trend starts. Here's the day-by-day forecast: Thursday, May 21: It will be a mostly sunny day with a high temperature in the low mid 60s. Storm Scenarios: If Separate Systems Merge, Parts Of Area Could See Accumulating Snowfall
Two separate storms - one from the north and the other moving up from the coast - could merge at the end of the week, resulting in the potential for accumulating snowfall to the region. The storm will follow something of a spring fling to start the week and a rare nearly snow-free month of February. Wednesday, March 4, will feature a mix of sun and clouds with the high temperature in the low to mid 50s. Storm Track: Here's Latest Projected Path, Timing For Weekend System
A storm system moving northeast is now projected to pass well south of the region. Friday, Jan. 31 will be a cloudy and dry day with a high temperature of around 40 degrees and wind-chill values between 30 and 40 degrees.
