A Greene County man is facing major felony charges after allegedly resisting arrest before authorities found more than 350 grams of cocaine in his car during a Thruway traffic stop in Ulster County, police said.
Catskill resident Sherod Wiggins, 47, was arrested early Wednesday, April 15, after troopers stopped his vehicle on Interstate 87 in Plattekill for multiple traffic violations, New York State Police announced on Thursday, April 16.
During the stop, a K-9 unit indicated that they smelled narcotics, prompting a search of the vehicle, police said.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Open Every Day store located at 29 South Main St. in Spring Valley, according to the Spring Valley Police Department.

5 Nabbed On Gun Charges During Hudson Valley Stop, Police Say
Five people were charged with allegedly having loaded weapons during a Hudson Valley traffic stop.
The incident occurred in Orange County around 3:40 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, in Wallkill.
According to Lt. Robert McLymore of the Wallkill Police, the department, along with the New York State Police, performed a vehicle stop at Exit 116 on Route 17, which led to the arrest of five of the five suspects.
A subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of three loaded firearms, McLymore said.

An alleged drunk driver is facing multiple charges after he was busted driving the wrong way on a highway in the region, authorities said.
Greene County resident Conor Moan, age 25, of Greenville, was arrested for felony DWI and other charges following a near-crash that occurred early Sunday, March 5, on the Thruway in Schenectady County, in the town of Rotterdam.
Troopers first spotted Moan at around 2 a.m. as he drove a Subaru Legacy westbound in the eastbound lane on I-90 near exit 26, according to State Police. They avoided a head-on crash by veering onto the right shoulder.

Man Accused Of Threatening To Kill Cops Damages Hotel After Arrest In Hudson Valley, Police Say
A 41-year-old man has been accused of damaging a hotel in the Hudson Valley after being released following an arrest during an altercation with police officers earlier in the day at a convenience store/gas station.
The incidents happened Thursday, Oct. 6 in Rockland County, in the Village of Airmont.
The man, whose name was not released by Ramapo Police, "violently resisted arrest, spit in the face and on the arms of several officers, while threatening to kill the officers," the department said.

Area Man Nabbed For Burglary Of Auto Glass Business, Police Say
An area man has been charged with allegedly burglarizing a business and then stealing a car to get away.
Sullivan County resident Trevor Tompkins, age 25, of Monticello, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 29 for the Thursday, Nov. 11 robbery, police said.
According to Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police Department, Tompkins was arrested following an investigation in which he was caught on video surveillance.

Orange County resident Tyrone Burkes, age 33, was arrested on Thursday, July 15, in the City of Newburgh during a traffic stop, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel.

Elisha D. Vazquez, age 39, of Kingston, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 8, for the incident which took place on Saturday, Dec. 26 in the town of Greenburgh, said the state police.
