Support is swelling for the family of a former college football standout in New York following his unexpected death at age 25. Amitral “AJ” Simon, a former defensive lineman for the University at Albany, died Tuesday, April 16, relatives confirmed. A cause of death was not given. A former college football standout in New York died at age 25, just a week before the NFL Draft. Amitral “AJ” Simon, a defensive lineman for the University at Albany, announced late last year that he was entering his name in the draft.
