Hudson Valley Driver Rams Several Police Cars During Pursuit, Police Say Police nabbed a 26-year-old Hudson Valley man after he allegedly rammed numerous police cars during a pursuit and foot chase. The incident occurred in Orange County on Sunday, Sept. 8 in Chester. According to Chester Police Chief Daniel Doellinger, two officers, including K9 Lou, were in a marked patrol vehicle stopped at a red traffic signal on Kings Highway when a motorcycle rear-ended the vehicle. ATV Mob Causes Havoc On Hudson Valley Roadway State Police are investigating a mob of ATVs and motorcycles who took over a roadway in the region, injuring one and threatening a trooper. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 4:10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8, on Route 9D in Wappingers Falls. According to State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, troopers responded to a report of 30 to 40 motorcycles and off-highway vehicles operating "recklessly" in the roadway and on sidewalks. Serious Hudson Valley Crash Leaves Rider In Critical Condition A person was hospitalized in critical condition following a serious crash in the Hudson Valley that caused an hours-long road closure.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Friday, Aug. 30 at around 5 p.m., when a motorcycle crashed on Route 22 near the intersection with Route 311, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police.  The motorcyclist was later taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition, Hicks said.  Route 22 in the crash area was closed until around 8 p.m. on Friday as authorities investigated the incident.

The incident occurred in Rockland County around 11:25 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, on I-87 in Clarkstown. Fatal Crash: 31-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Hudson Valley A 31-year-old motorist was killed after crashing into a tree. The incident happened around 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, in Columbia County. An investigation determined that a motorcycle driven by Schenectady County resident Randall D. Collins, age 31, of the town of Glenville, was traveling east on Route 28 in the town of Kinderhook when he went off the south shoulder, through a field and struck a tree, according to New York State Police. Collins was pronounced dead at the scene. Niverville Fire and Greenport Rescue assisted state police. The investigation is ongoing.
