Area Man Nabbed For Burglary Of Auto Glass Business, Police Say
An area man has been charged with allegedly burglarizing a business and then stealing a car to get away.
Sullivan County resident Trevor Tompkins, age 25, of Monticello, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 29 for the Thursday, Nov. 11 robbery, police said.
According to Lt. Mark Johnstone, of the Monticello Police Department, Tompkins was arrested following an investigation in which he was caught on video surveillance.
The burglary took place around 4 a.m. at the Safelite Auto Glass store at 51 Forestburg Road in the Village of Monticello, Johnstone said.

Man Deliberately Drives Through Detour Barricade In Area, Injures Two Road Workers, Police Say
A man with 11 license suspensions has been arrested for allegedly deliberately driving his vehicle through a barricaded road that was being repaired, injuring two workers in the area.
Police arrested Sullivan County resident Jamiller Drayton, age 38, of Monticello on Thursday, June 10, following the incident.
Around 7:40 a.m., Thursday, Drayton was driving a 2009 Dodge Avenger on West Broadway in the Village of Monticello, when he approached a road closure at the intersection of Hillside Avenue, said Monticello PD Lt. Mark Johnstone.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after taking police on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds over 115 mph, before crashing into a snowbank, authorities said.

A 34-year-old area man was arrested for allegedly shooting a passenger in a vehicle multiple times.
The arrest of Richard Olsen, of Bethel, took place in Sullivan County by the Monticello Police Department, in conjunction with the Sullivan County Sheriff Office, on Thursday, June 4.
