5 Hospitalized After Crash That Caused Taconic Parkway Closure
Five people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash that caused the closure of a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway. It happened in Dutchess County on Friday, Nov. 24 on the northbound side in La Grange. A Columbia County man, age 22, from the city of Hudson, was operating a 2010 Chevy Colorado in the right lane, according to Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. Woman Hospitalized After Collision Between Car, Train In Area
A woman was hospitalized after a collision between a car and a train overnight. The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 in Ulster County on Route 212 in the Village of Saugerties. An investigation by Saugerties Police has established that 35-year-old Esther N. Lee, of Montebello, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was operating a 2009 Honda CRV, traveling west on Ulster Avenue. Lee failed to stop at the railroad crossing, crashing through the warning gate, running her vehicle directly into a train that was traveling northbound, said police. …

Woman Charged With Assault For Stabbing Boyfriend In Leg In Area
A woman was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon after stabbing her boyfriend in the thigh during the course of an argument. The Friday, Oct. 30 argument in Dutchess County began in a parking lot in Hyde Park on 98 E. Market St. and continued into the victim's apartment, police said. According to witnesses, 31-year-old assailant Amanda McArthur ran out of her boyfriend's apartment after the incident and told neighbors that her boyfriend had "fallen on his knife," the Mid Hudson News reported.
