A Hudson Valley man has claimed a $1 million lottery prize.
Enrique Rodriguez, who is from Middletown in Orange County, claimed the top prize from the New York Lottery's 25X scratch-off ticket, which is part of the X Series of games, according to an announcement from NY Lottery on Monday, March 21.
“You have to be in it to win it,” Rodriguez told NY Lottery after claiming his prize.
He chose to receive his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $546,840 after required withholdings, according to the announcement.

Police Officer Accused Of Breaking Into Children's Camp In Hudson Valley
A police officer has been arrested for allegedly breaking into and damaging property at a children's camp in the Hudson Valley.
On Wednesday, Sept. 15, the New York State Police in conjunction with the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Matthew E. McGrath, age 37, of Middletown in Orange County, for breaking into and damaging property at the Camp Young Judaea on Sprout Lake Camp Road in the town of Union Vale.
McGrath, an officer with the NYPD, was charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of criminal mischief, Trooper AJ Hicks said.

A small aircraft was intercepted by a military fighter jet after it allegedly violated restricted airspace while President Joe Biden was at his Delaware home.
The Grumman AA-5 Tiger was flown from New York's Hudson Valley, in Middletown in Orange County, to Ocean City, Maryland on Saturday, May 15.
The aircraft entered restricted airspace around 1 p.m. Sunday, May 16, said a Secret Service spokesperson.

Man Wanted For Criminal Impersonation, Other Charges, In Westchester, Police Say
State police are searching for a man who was driving without a license, gave police a false identity, then never showed up in court.
According to police, 33-year-old Justin Martinez, who is known to frequent Middletown in Orange County, is wanted in Westchester by the town of Greenburgh court for the felony of second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and the misdemeanors of second-degree falsifying business documents and second-degree criminal impersonation.
Martinez stands at 5-foot-8, weighs 125 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes.
