Routine Traffic Stop Lands 5 Capital Region Teens In Handcuffs; No Room Left In Juvenile Jail
Police arrested five boys — the youngest being 15 — after they found illegal pistols during a routine traffic stop on Wednesday, Aug. 8, in Rensselaer County, authortiies said. The teens — ages 15 to 17 — were stopped near the Griswold Heights Apartments in Troy as officers have upped their presenece there following recent violence, Troy police said. A middle school student has been charged with making a terroristic threat after threatening to shoot up his school in New York while making a reference to the recent Uvalde, Texas massacre. The incident took place in Suffolk County at Westhampton Beach Middle School on Thursday, June 2. Teen Arrested In Westchester For Gun Possession, Home Burglary, Police Say
A teenage suspect implicated in a home burglary was busted by police in Westchester with an illegal, loaded pistol, authorities announced. Detectives from the Mount Vernon Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit on patrol along the 200 block of South Third Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 2 spotted a teenage suspect who was being sought in connection with a previous home invasion.
