Numerous Dogs Found In 'Deplorable' Conditions At Capital Region Man's Home, Police Say A 29-year-old man from the region is facing dozens of animal abuse charges after allegedly neglecting numerous dogs that were in his care. Saratoga County resident Derrick Sud-Nieves, of Halfmoon, was arrested Friday, May 10, following an investigation by the Town of Halfmoon Code Enforcement Department. According to sheriff’s officials, they discovered “a large number” of dogs that were living in “deplorable” conditions on the property. No other details were given. Combative 20-Year-Old Busted With 'Ghost' Gun During Capital Region Traffic Stop, Police Say A routine traffic stop in the region ended with a 20-year-old in handcuffs on weapons charges. The Saratoga County incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, in Halfmoon on Tower Way. State Police said 20-year-old Shawn Koenig, of Pittsfield in Rensselaer County, was initially stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The trooper ordered him out of the car for a standardized field sobriety test, but Koenig reportedly refused to cooperate. Emergency crews in Saratoga County were called at around 8:20 p.m. Friday, April 7, with reports of a disturbance at an apartment in Clifton Park, according to State Police. Hugo Cabrera, age 46, of Troy, and Justine Tuttle, age 42, of Schodack, were arrested Friday, Sept. 2, on a warrant for felony grand larceny. State police in Saratoga County were initially called on Tuesday, March 22, with reports of a theft that occurred at the Lowe’s on State Route 146 in Halfmoon a week prior.
