5 Nabbed On Gun Charges During Hudson Valley Stop, Police Say Five people were charged with allegedly having loaded weapons during a Hudson Valley traffic stop. The incident occurred in Orange County around 3:40 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, in Wallkill. According to Lt. Robert McLymore of the Wallkill Police, the department, along with the New York State Police, performed a vehicle stop at Exit 116 on Route 17, which led to the arrest of five of the five suspects. A subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of three loaded firearms, McLymore said. Those charged included: Capital Region resident Shawn A. Briggs, age 35, of Troy. …

Missing Capital Region Man Found Dead The search for a missing man from the region has ended in tragedy. Albany County resident Richard Ryther, age 71, of Glenmont, was reported missing Friday, Nov. 24. On Sunday, Nov. 26, Bethlehem Police announced that Ryther was found dead in a wooded area at the Moh-He-Con-Nuck Nature Preserve. The preserve is located just yards from Ryther’s home on River Road. His death does not appear suspicious, police said. The Albany County Coroner’s Office will determine an official cause of death. Motorcyclist Dies After Colliding With Companion's Bike In Capital District A woman has died after her motorcycle collided with a companion’s bike in the Capital District. New York State Police said the woman was riding on the Northway in Saratoga County just before 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, when she attempted to change lanes near Curry Road in the town of Malta. When she moved into the left lane, she struck another motorcycle and lost control before leaving the roadway and hitting a guardrail, police said.
