Employees from a Hudson Valley town bid farewell to their police chief, who resigned to take a new position. For the past 11 years, Police Chief Keith Dworkin has called Dutchess County and the Fishkill Police Department home, but on Friday, July 19, he said goodbye to take another position as chief in the village of Millbrook. Two Injured After Dog Breaks Free To Attack Young Girl In Hudson Valley
A teen and a woman were seriously injured during a dog attack in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 7, when a large pit bull broke loose from its owner and attacked the 14-year-old girl and the dog's owner, in the area of Thomas Avenue and Geering Park in the town of Fishkill. At least 13 people were driven out of their homes by a Fishkill apartment fire that took seven hours to extinguish, according to the Village of Fishkill Fire Department. Man Stabs Mother, Kills Pedestrian In Hit-Run Crash While Fleeing, Police Say
A man who allegedly stabbed his mother and then killed a pedestrian in a fatal hit-and-run crash in the area has been apprehended. The incident unfolded in Dutchess County around 9:44 p.m., on Wednesday, May 20, when Fishkill Police responded to a report of a vehicle-pedestrian auto accident in the area of Route 82 and Crestwood Court.
