Hudson Valley Dealer Admits Selling Fentanyl, Causing 3 Deaths, 3 Overdoses
A Hudson Valley man has admitted in court that he sold fentanyl that resulted in three deaths and three overdoses, according to Damian Williams, US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
The incidents occurred in Rockland County between Feb. 2020 and April 2022.
Williams said Justin Turnick, age 25, of Congers, pled guilty to distributing the fentanyl causing the deaths and overdoses on Tuesday, Aug. 6, in US District Court.
“Justin Turnick’s actions didn’t just facilitate addiction—they fueled a crisis that claimed lives and inflicted unimaginable suffering," Willaims said.

Hudson Valley Duo Nabbed With Gun, Drugs By Task Force, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man and woman were allegedly nabbed with a loaded gun and drugs during an operation by a drug task force.
The arrests took place in Dutchess County, on Thursday, Feb. 15 in Poughkeepsie.
According to Sgt. Adam Harris of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, James E. Morris, age 51, and Jonette Drake, age 43, both of Poughkeepsie, were charged after an investigation into drug sales in the area.
The two were busted when Morris sold cocaine to the Drug Task Force multiple times, said Harris.

'Sadness, Anger' After 8 Fatal Drug Overdoses In 8 Days Reported In Capital Region City
Police in the region are sounding the alarm after eight people died from drug overdoses in as many days.
All eight deaths occurred in Schenectady between Saturday, July 1, and Saturday, July 8, according to police.
The most recent occurred in the city’s Stockade neighborhood. An autopsy revealed that the person died from drug intoxication.
