Erratic Driving Stop Leads To Felony DWI Charge For Pearl River Man, Police Say A Pearl River man has been charged with felony DWI after he was pulled over for driving erratically, according to police. Orangetown Police say they responded to the area of Route 304 and Central Avenue in Pearl River on a report of a 2016 Jeep being driven erratically on Sunday, Oct. 20 around 7:15 p.m. Further investigation revealed that the driver, identified as Thomas Muthig, 54, of Pearl River, was displaying signs of intoxication, police say. US Army Vet Sentenced For Drunken Crash That Killed Best Friend A veteran of the US Army who killed his best friend while driving drunk in Orange County will spend time behind bars. Robert Higgins, 25, of Highland Mills, was sentenced in Orange County Court to a term of between one and two-third to five years in prison after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter and driving while intoxicated in October last year. In addition to the prison sentence, Higgins’ driver’s license was revoked and he was fined $1,275.
