ID Released For Remains Of Woman Found In Northern Westchester Reservoir
A woman who had been missing for more than 30 years has been identified as the person found inside a vehicle at the bottom of the Muscoot Reservoir. Brenda Kerber, age 40, of White Plains, a mother of two from two marriages, was found more than 30 years after she went missing in September of 1989, said the Chief of the White Plains Department of Public Safety Joseph Castelli. Kerber's remains were found on Tuesday, Jan. 19, in a station wagon pulled from the Muscoot Reservoir in Somers. More than 200 gallons of oil flowed down a hill, spilled into Lake Mahopac and had to be cleaned up by first responders. The oil spill was reported on Mount Hope Road in Mahopac at approximately 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, prompting a heavy response by multiple emergency agencies. Oh, deer. It’s deer mating season, and area residents have been cautioned that there will be a rise in vehicle collisions involving the animal for several months. The breeding season for white-tailed deer in the area runs from October to January, with peak activity taking place in mid-November, leading to an increase of sightings and collisions involving deer vs. drivers.
