Hudson Valley Man Admits Stabbing To Death Victim During Altercation Outside Bar
A Hudson Valley man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of another man outside of a bar. Eric McCollum, age 28, of Newburgh, pled guilty on Tuesday, Nov. 14 under a plea agreement where he is expected to be sentenced to 15 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler. Stabbing Death: Hudson Valley Man Charged In Killing In Front Of Popular Bar
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with stabbing to death another man near a popular bar. The incident took place in Orange County near the 411 Lounge on Broadway in the city of Newburgh around 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 28. On Thursday, June 1, the city of Newburgh Police arrested Eric McCollum, a 28-year-old Newburgh resident, said Michael Neppl, a spokesman for the city of Newburgh. McCollum was charged with the second-degree murder of Jose Soto, age 38, of the city of Newburgh and held pending arraignment, Neppl said. 38-Year-Old Nabbed For DWI Twice In 3 Hours In Hudson Valley: Police
A man was arrested twice in three hours for alleged drunk driving by state police in the Hudson Valley. The first stop took place in Orange County around 4:15 a.m., Sunday, May 14 when troopers from the Montgomery barracks observed Tito Vinza-Vinza, age 38, of the city of Newburgh, drifting into the opposite lane. During the stop, Vinza-Vinza, who was driving a gray 2007 Ford F150 east on Broadway, refused to provide a blood alcohol content test when troopers determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Man Found Dead In Area Backyard From Apparent Overdose, Police Say
Police are asking the public for help after finding a man dead in a backyard in the area from an apparent overdose. The man was found around 1:30 p.m. in Orange County in the City of Newburgh when officers responded to a home on Broadway for the report of a "person down." Officers on-scene located an unidentified man in the rear yard dead of an apparent drug overdose, the City of Newburgh Police said. At this time the incident is under investigation, police said. Nine area residents were charged with alleged impaired driving in the area in stops by New York State Police troopers. More than a dozen area residents were among those arrested by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley over the weekend. Sixteen area residents were charged for alleged impaired driving by New York State Police troopers in the Hudson Valley. Local residents facing charges include: Ulster County On Jan. 3, State Police in Ellenville arrested Lizette Andino, 31 of Napanoch, for DWAI Drugs.
