Tributes are pouring in for a beloved New York Army National Guard member from the region following her untimely death. Heather St. Pierre, formerly of Troy in Rensselaer County, died at her Cambridge home in Washington County on Thursday, Jan. 11 at the age of 33, according to her obituary. $50K Winning Lottery Ticket Sold At Convenience Store In Capital Region
A winning lottery ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a convenience store in the region. The third prize-winning Powerball ticket was sold in Albany at the Cumberland Farms store located at 1870 Western Avenue. It was sold for the drawing held on Monday, Jan. 15, New York Lottery announced. Monday’s winning numbers are 13-30-35-49-59 and the Powerball is 4. An ex-convict from the region is going back to prison for shooting a woman through her window and slashing a second victim in the face. Raheem Hines, age 46, of Albany, was sentenced to 25 years behind bars in Albany County Court on Friday, Jan. 12, after pleading guilty to attempted murder and related charges. Man Murders 48-Year-Old Found Inside Capital Region Home, Police Say
A 44-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with another man’s death at a home in the region. Albany Police were called at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, for a welfare check at a residence on Rose Court. A 40-year-old man from the region could spend decades behind bars for having child pornography. Schenectady County resident Aaron Griesche, of Niskayuna, pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography in Albany federal court on Thursday, Jan. 11. A 13-year-old boy who was injured in a shooting in the region is now charged in connection to the attack as well as a second shooting. A 42-year-old man was killed during a crash between two tractor-trailers in the Hudson Valley.
