King Kullen Closing This Long Island Store After 30 Years
Long Islanders will soon have one less option when it comes to buying groceries. Supermarket chain King Kullen is set to close its Levittown store after 30 years in business, an employee confirmed to Daily Voice. The store will close for good at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3. Employees are being offered positions at the grocer’s other Long Island locations. Founded in 1930, the Hauppauge-based King Kullen operates 31 locations across Nassau and Suffolk counties, four of them under its Wild by Nature subsidiary. Authorities are hoping new details about a male victim in the Gilgo Beach serial murders case – and a cash reward – will lead to his identification. On Long Island, the Gilgo Beach Task Force released details about clothing that was worn by the so-called “Asian Doe,” whose skeletal remains were found along Ocean Parkway in Gilgo Beach on April 4, 2011. Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a woman on Long Island.
