Street Takeover Stopped Cold In Lirr Parking Lot In Suffolk County An attempted street takeover on Long Island was shut down, halting a chaotic gathering of vehicles in Ronkonkoma. The incident unfolded in the parking lot of the Long Island Railroad station in Ronkonkoma at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, when over 40 vehicles gathered.  Two pickup trucks reportedly performed donuts around other vehicles and bystanders as the Suffolk County Police Street Takeover Task Force, along with officers from the department’s Criminal Intelligence unit, moved in to contain the scene, blocking all exits. The incident happened in Lawrence, at the Five Towns Shopping Center on Rockaway Turnpike, at around 8:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16. Nassau County Police said a 54-year-old man was driving a pickup truck northbound on Rockaway Turnpike when he got into a road rage confrontation with another man driving a sedan. Fatal Overnight Hit-Run Crash: 22-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Patchogue One person was killed in an overnight hit-and-run Long Island crash. The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday, June 10, in  Patchogue. According to Suffolk County Police, the victim was operating a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle and traveling eastbound on Main Street when a westbound car turned left in front of the motorcycle onto Rider Avenue, causing the collision. The vehicle, described as an older, dark-colored sedan, fled southbound on Rider Avenue.
