Fatal House Fire: 62-Year-Old ID'd As Victim In Nesconset
A Long Island resident was killed in a house fire. The blaze broke out around 5:25 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Nesconset. First responders rushed to the scene at Highland Place after a 911 call. Thomas Walz, age 62, a resident of the home, was taken out of the house by responders. Walz was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 14-Year-Old Critically Injured In Lake Ronkonkoma Crash Involving Nesconset Woman
A teenager suffered severe injuries in a crash near a Long Island intersection. It happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in Lake Ronkonkoma. A 56-year-old Nesconset woman was driving a 2024 Volkswagen SUV on Smith Road, near Cenacle Road, when the vehicle struck the 14-year-old boy who was rollerblading in the roadway, according to the Suffolk County Police. Help is on the way for Long Island homeowners who were impacted by severe flooding. Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a disaster emergency for Suffolk County on Friday, Aug. 23, following this week’s record rainfall that resulted in major flooding to homes and businesses, and washed out several roads. At least six homes were heavily damaged and roads were washed out following a powerful storm system that brought drenching rain and widespread flooding to parts of New York and Connecticut. Police on Long Island are asking the public for help identifying a woman who drove across a lawn and hit a car in the driveway before fleeing. The incident occurred in Nesconset on Pierson Street around 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, July 28. According to the Suffolk County Police, the unidentified woman drove a blue Hyundai four-door sedan across the home's lawn and hit a 2022 Ford parked in the home's driveway. 9-Year-Old Found Unresponsive In Pool At Nesconset Home
A child is in critical condition after being found unresponsive in a swimming pool at a Long Island home. Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call about the incident involving the 9-year-old boy in Nesconset at about 6:15 p.m. Friday, June 28. Suffolk County Police said several neighbors located the child at the home on 5th Street and removed him from the pool. Suspect Who Allegedly Forced Entry By Throwing Objects Nabbed For Suffolk County Burglary Spree
A suspect has been apprehended in connection to a spree of burglaries of Long Island businesses. Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Squad detectives, Joseph Foresto, age 67, was charged with six commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Saturday, May 18, and Saturday, June 22.
