Michaels celebrated the grand opening of its newest location on Long Island Wednesday, Oct. 30.
The company opened its 20,000-square-foot store in Hicksville's Woodbury Shopping Center, located at 410 South Oyster Bay Road, at the former location of TJ Maxx.
A popular destination for crafters and hobbyists alike, Michaels sells a wide range of arts and crafts supplies, as well as framing, floral items and candles, and home and holiday décor.
The retailer operates over 1,200 stores throughout the United States and Canada.

18-Year-Old Duo Rob Long Island Macy's, Police Say
Two teens were nabbed after they allegedly stole items from a Long Island mall, with one resisting arrest, police said.
It happened on Thursday, May 30 in Garden City.
The pair — Kayshawn King and Jeremy Higgins, both 18 — were at the Macy’s in the Roosevelt Field Mall when, just after 6 p.m., they reportedly attempted to steal hidden merchandise.
According to Nassau County Police, a 23-year-old employee tried to stop the teens; as he escorted them back into the store, Higgins attempted to flee.

Man Exposes, Touches Himself At Mall On Long Island, Police Say
A Long Island man has been arrested after he allegedly exposed himself to a woman in a mall food court.
It happened in Garden City on Thursday, May 16, according to Nassau County Police.
At approximately 10 a.m., Irvin Acevedo Ayala, age 27 of Hempstead, was at the Roosevelt Field Mall food court, located at 630 Old Country Road.
He allegedly approached a 62-year-old woman, who was also in the food court, and began exposing and touching his genitals.
Police located him nearby and he was arrested without incident.
Ayala is charged with public lewdness.
