DNA On Hat Leads To Murder Conviction In Shooting Of Wyandanch Partygoer More than four years after a man was gunned down at a Long Island house party, a jury convicted his killer.  Basheer Vinson, age 29, of Brooklyn, was found guilty of murder and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the death of Mark Birthwright. The incident happened in Bethpage, at the Susan’s Pub located on Railroad Avenue, at around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18. Nassau County Police said a masked man entered the bar and grabbed a 64-year-old male customer while demanding cash from the 64-year-old female bartender.
