Longtime Police Officer From Region Suspended Following DWI A longtime police sergeant from the Hudson Valley has been suspended for 30 days without pay after allegedly being caught and charged with driving while intoxicated. According to New York State Trooper Jennifer Alvarez, Eric J. VanAllen, age 46, of Kingston, was arrested on Friday, Dec. 13, for DWI after he was found sleeping in a 2025 Dodge Ram pickup at an intersection in Gardiner. Nypd Sergeant From Hudson Valley Charged With DWI, Hit-Run An NYPD sergeant from the Hudson Valley was charged with DWI and hit-and-run following a pursuit with the New York State Police on the Palisades Interstate Parkway. The incident occurred in Rockland and Orange counties on Sunday, Aug. 4, in Haverstraw and Highlands. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, around 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, troopers received word of a hit-and-run on the Palisades Parkway in the town of Haverstraw. Nypd Officer From Hudson Valley Accused Of Covering Up DWI A New York Police Department (NYPD) deputy inspector has been indicted for allegedly covering up a drunk driving incident of himself and his girlfriend. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., announced on Friday, June 14, that Paul Zangrilli, age 44, of Rockland County, was charged with covering up the drunk driving incident in 2022.  According to Bragg, Zangrilli allegedly allowed his girlfriend, Nikole Rupple, age 35, of New York City, to drive his unmarked NYPD-issued vehicle after they had both been drinking for several hours.  Bragg said Zangrilli was in the passen…
