A Hudson Valley man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly extorting $22,000 by masquerading as a teenager online and then threatening a local victim with accusations of possessing child pornography. Ian D. Buckley Jr., age 25, of Poughkeepsie, was charged on Wednesday, Dec. 4, following an investigation by New York State Police. Duo Busted Posing As Rideshare Drivers In Capital Region, Police Say
Police are warning Uber and Lyft customers to be on the lookout for fake rideshare drivers. In Saratoga County, the Saratoga Springs Police Department received multiple complaints about people pretending to work for rideshare companies and accepting fares around the Saratoga Racetrack and downtown areas. On Thursday, Aug. 1, the department conducted a targeted enforcement detail in those areas, ultimately arresting one driver and citing another. Duo Accused Of Stealing Mail From Hudson Valley Residences
Two 22-year-olds face a long list of charges after allegedly stealing mail from residences in the Hudson Valley, including several checks, authorities announced. Bronx residents Devonte Hamilton and Kadon Jackson were both arrested on Wednesday, July 10 around 12:30 p.m. in connection with mail thefts at several household mailboxes in the Putnam County town of Philipstown, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday, July 11.
