Police in the Hudson Valley are working to identify a man wanted in connection with the alleged theft of tools from a fire department construction site. The incident occurred in Orange County at the Vails Gate Fire Department construction site late on Wednesday, Sept. 4. A former New York attorney is heading to prison after confessing that he stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from his clients. Former Long Island resident Douglas Valente, age 57, now of Florida, was sentenced to between one and four years in prison in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, Aug. 22. Vehicle Stolen From Hudson Valley Residence, Then Used To Commit Larcenies
Authorities in the Hudson Valley are warning residents to take precautions following multiple incidents of items taken from vehicles, as well as one instance of a car stolen from a residence and used to commit thefts. The incidents, which all happened in Putnam County, were detailed in an announcement on Tuesday, June 18 from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, which said it has received numerous reports of items taken from unlocked vehicles throughout the county in the last few weeks.
