Suffolk County Police say they observed a purple 2023 Dodge Charger doing donuts in the hamlet of Shirley at around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the intersection of Montauk Highway and William Floyd Parkway. The vehicle stalled and the man left the vehicle and fled on foot. Following an investigation, officers determined the vehicle was a rental. Crash Update: 1 Critical, 1 Stable Following 2-Vehicle Drunk Driving Accident In Region Two victims of an alleged drunk driving crash who were severely wounded remain in the hospital. The collision occurred in Greene County on Route 23 in Catskill at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10. According to Greene County Sheriff's Office Capt. Joel Rowell, responding deputies immediately began life-saving measures on the two seriously injured victims who were ejected from a motorcycle.  They are 57-year-old Craig Sutherland and 50-year-old Charity Hogan of Quebec, Canada.  Sutherland was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where he currently remains in cr…

22-Year-Old Goes Over 100 MPH During Street Race In Region: Police A 22-year-old faces criminal charges after they were caught traveling at high speed during an alleged street race on a busy Hudson Valley road, police said.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Aug. 18, when a Carmel Police officer saw an apparent street race occurring at the intersection of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road, the department said on Tuesday, Aug. 20.  One of the vehicles was seen going faster than 100 miles per hour, the department added.  This car was immediately stopped and the 22-year-old driver, a Mahopac resident whose name has not been release…

Teen Driver Smoked Marijuana Before Capital Region Crash Killing 14-Year-Old, Police Say An 18-year-old man is facing vehicular manslaughter charges in connection with an alleged DWI crash in the region that killed a 14-year-old girl. The Saratoga County incident happened at around 8:45 p.m. Saturday, June 29, in the town of Waterford. Police said Everhett Hatlee, of Troy, was driving a Dodge Charger on Fonda Road when he lost control and rolled his vehicle near White Street.  The crash killed 14-year-old Kiera Ebert and seriously injured her 16-year-old brother. The arrest resulted from an incident in Putnam County on Saturday, May 11 around 10 p.m., when a Carmel Police officer saw a motorcycle with a blocked license plate near the Mahopac Village Center and tried pulling it over, according to the department.
