It'll soon be wheels – and paws – up for a new airline taking off from a Long Island airport. RetrievAir, a pet-centric airline built entirely around traveling with dogs, will begin service out of Republic Airport (FRG) in Farmingdale, the company said in a news release on Wednesday, Mar. 26. Half a million electric ranges are being recalled after reports of the stoves accidentally turning on, causing fires and killing pets, officials said. LG is recalling about 500,000 stoves due to a fire hazard linked to front-mounted knobs, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a news release on Thursday, Feb. 6. A Long Island woman formally accepted responsibility after her dog mauled a 2-year-old boy and injured the child’s uncle. Amy Willi, age 45, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Sept. 25. More than a million Samsung electric ranges are subject to a recall after the company received hundreds of reports of fires that left several people injured and pets dead over the past decade.
