American Flags, Political Signs Defaced In Nassau County: Police
A vandal targeted a home by defacing American flags and political campaign signs, police on Long Island announced on Monday, Oct. 13. The Fifth Squad is investigating the criminal mischief incident, which was reported at 2:18 p.m. on Catherine Street, according to the police. Nassau County officers arrived at the Valley Stream residence and discovered two American flags and several political signs had been vandalized, detectives said. The investigation remains ongoing. DWI Crash Slams BMW Into Trees, Seriously Injures Passenger On Long Island: Police
A drunk driver crashed a BMW into multiple trees in Patchogue, seriously injuring his passenger, Suffolk County police announced on Sunday, April 27. Andy Bonilla, 21, of Yaphank, was driving eastbound on the Sunrise Service Road at Medford Avenue when he lost control around 3:20 a.m., according to police. The BMW left the roadway and slammed into several trees. A female passenger suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, police said. Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Long Island Crash With Pickup Truck: Police
A 73-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in East Patchogue, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Jan. 18. Gary Green, of Bellport, was riding on Montauk Highway near County Road 101 when a westbound 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Norman Kurrass, of East Patchogue, hit him at 5:14 p.m., detectives said. Green was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue for treatment of his injuries. Kurrass was not injured in the crash, according to police. 44-Year-Old Killed After Being Struck By Car While Working On Pickup Truck On Long Island Road
A man who was working on a pickup truck on a Long Island roadway was killed after being struck by a car. It happened around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Blue Point. A 54-year-old East Patchogue woman was driving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Kennedy Avenue near Pine Street when the vehicle struck a man working on a 2006 Dodge Ram parked on the northbound side of the road.
