A 72-year-old Long Island drug dealer whose fentanyl and xylazine led to another man’s overdose has been indicted, authorities said Tuesday, April 28.
Michael Dirago, of Hauppauge, sold the illegal drugs that killed a 53-year-old man in Mastic, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said. Dragic’s contact was saved in the man’s phone as “Mike Gangster,” investigators said.

Stony Brook Student Arrested For Dorm Room Drug Deals: Police
A Stony Brook University student was busted selling meth and ketamine out of his dorm room on Monday, April 27, police said.
William Turri, 20, was charged with four counts of possession and one count of selling controlled substances and will be held overnight until his arraignment Tuesday, April 28, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Following an investigation, cops searched Turri’s dorm room in Mount Hall on the Suffolk County campus around 12 p.m. Monday, police said. They found “methamphetamines, ketamine, and items used for drug sales,” authorities said.

4-Year-Old Found Dad Dead From Fentanyl Sold By Long Island Duo, DA Says
Two men were indicted in connection with the fentanyl overdose death of a Brentwood father whose 4-year-old daughter discovered his body.
Steven Pesantez, 29, of Brentwood, and Isaiah Skees, 27, of Bay Shore, were charged with multiple drug-related felonies in Suffolk County Court Thursday, Aug. 28, following a months-long investigation.
The case stems from the Feb. 12 death of a man in Brentwood who died of fentanyl intoxication, prosecutors said. His young daughter was the one to find him.
Pesantez allegedly sold the fentanyl that led to the fatal overdose, according to investigators.

A 55-year-old man was arrested in connection with a string of commercial burglaries on Long Island.
George Dimou, of Middle Island, was taken into custody Sunday, July 6, after Suffolk County Police linked him to several recent break-ins at businesses in Shirley, police said.
Dimou was caught on video breaking into Carlo’s Pizza on Glen Drive around 3 a.m. that same morning, where he stole cash, police said.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal overdose in Woodbury, Nassau County police announced on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
The deadly incident unfolded at 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, prompting a response by the department's Narcotics/Vice Squad.
Detectives say their investigation led them to arrest Terrell Nesbitt, 29, of West Hempstead, and Jamice Lattimore, 21, of Roosevelt. Both were taken into custody without incident.

A Queens man was busted with drugs and a loaded gun during an investigation into a fatal Nassau County overdose, authorities announced.
Keith Turner, 59, of 222nd Street, was arrested in Elmont at 3:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, following a probe into the deadly incident, according to Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives.
Investigators seized pills believed to be oxycodone, a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, a loaded .45-caliber handgun, and additional ammunition, police said.

Two men have been accused of burglarizing multiple businesses and stealing ATMs on Long Island.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives, the two were arrested and charged with a series of commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Tuesday, March 5, and Monday, March 11.
During the burglaries, police say, John Mahoney, 41, of Mastic, and Jamie Volini, age 46, of East Patchogue, forced entry through broken doors and windows into closed gas stations and businesses and damaged or stole the ATMs.
