Bellmore Man Turns $2 Ticket Into $4.5M Payday
A Long Island lottery player just scored a life-changing win, claiming a CASH4LIFE prize worth at least $7 million.
Jason Champagne, of Bellmore, claimed the $1,000 A Day For Life top prize after his ticket matched the first five numbers drawn on Dec. 9, 2025, according to the New York Lottery.
The winning numbers were 12, 24, 36, 54, and 56, with Cash Ball 02.
While the prize guarantees a minimum payout of $7 million paid out over time, Champagne opted to take the cash value instead. He received a one-time lump sum payment of $4,557,000 after required withholdings.

A Long Island man is accused of swinging a sledgehammer and injuring two police officers during a violent arrest, detectives announced on Friday, Sept. 19.
Jason Franco, 34, of Bellmore, was involved in a domestic disturbance at a North Bellmore home on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 4:40 p.m., according to police.
Franco got into a verbal argument with a 77-year-old man, then used a sledgehammer to smash through the victim’s bedroom door, detectives said. The victim, fearing for his life, dialed 911.

A Long Island attorney is accused of stealing more than $400,000 that was supposed to pay off his client’s loan during a property sale.
Michael Tulchiner, 61, of Bellmore, was arraigned on one count of felony larceny in Suffolk County Court on Friday, Aug. 8.
Tulchiner, the principal attorney at The Law Office of Michael J. Tulchiner in Melville, diverted $413,237 from a mortgage disbursement account between August and December 2022, prosecutors allege.
The money, part of a refinance loan for his client, was designated to pay off a prior loan as part of a real estate closing.

A Bellmore man was arrested for drunk driving after crashing his car into a Wantagh home, causing extensive damage, Nassau County police said.
Officers from the Eighth Precinct responded to Gregg Court at 12:19 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, after a 2019 Hyundai Elantra slammed into a house, police said. The driver, identified as Daniel Delia, 33, of Cedar Lane, was taken into custody at the scene without further incident.

A man critically injured in a fiery crash on Long Island has died from his injuries, authorities announced Monday morning, Nov. 11.
Richard Sorrentino, age 34, of Queens, was pronounced dead by hospital staff on Friday, Nov. 8, Nassau County Police said.
The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, around 6:55 p.m. in Bellmore.
Sorrentino was riding a black motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway near Rose Place when he struck a bicyclist attempting to cross the roadway.
