A Long Island thermometer manufacturing company formally confessed to exposing employees to hazardous materials, seriously injuring four people.
Robert Peyser, 66, of Bellmore, and his West Babylon-based Kessler Thermometer Corp. pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Suffolk County Court on Friday, Dec. 13.
Peyser, the company’s owner and principal agent, admitted that he knowingly endangered workers by failing to provide proper ventilation, protective equipment, and cleanup protocols for handling mercury spills.

A man critically injured in a fiery crash on Long Island has died from his injuries, authorities announced Monday morning, Nov. 11.
Richard Sorrentino, age 34, of Queens, was pronounced dead by hospital staff on Friday, Nov. 8, Nassau County Police said.
The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, around 6:55 p.m. in Bellmore.
Sorrentino was riding a black motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway near Rose Place when he struck a bicyclist attempting to cross the roadway.

Three women are facing prostitution charges after an undercover operation at a Long Island business.
The investigation was conducted at SPA located in Bellmore at 2556 Merrick Road on Thursday, Sept. 5.
It was determined illegal massages and prostitution were being conducted at this location, Nassau County Police said.
Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives placed Jholdana Rojas, age 37, of Paterson, New Jersey, Youchun Zhang, age 49, of Bellmore, and Shaoyu Xiong, age 36, of Flushing, Queens, under arrest without incident.
