Mystery Surrounds Man Found Dead In Tent-Like Structure On Long Island: Police

A man was found dead inside a makeshift tent near a busy Central Islip intersection, sparking a homicide investigation, Suffolk County Police announced on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The body was discovered at approximately 12:30 p.m. inside the enclosure on the south side of Suffolk Avenue, near Carleton Avenue, police said.

Investigators have not determined how the man died. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. His identity remains unknown.
