A New York attorney has admitted to running a scheme to defraud victims of nearly $6,000,000. Long Island resident Daniel Boldi, age 49, of Garden City acted as settlement agent and bank attorney in multiple property sales on Long Island and embezzled millions of dollars of his clients’ escrow and home loan funds, according to Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. The owner of a New York business admitted to running a multimillion-dollar check-kiting scheme to keep his company operating. Long Island resident John B. Mensch, age 54, pleaded guilty in connection with a nearly year-long fraud conspiracy involving banks in Suffolk County and the Hudson Valley, federal authorities announced Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 2. A Long Island woman formally accepted responsibility after her dog mauled a 2-year-old boy and injured the child’s uncle. Amy Willi, age 45, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in Suffolk County Court on Wednesday, Sept. 25. A Long Island man has been accused of being drunk with a child in his SUV after police say he was driving the wrong way. The incident happened overnight in Mineola. A teenager has been apprehended after police say he left the scene of a Long Island crash that seriously injured a woman. It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4 in Wyandanch. A Long Island cardiologist and convicted sex offender is facing years in prison for again possessing images depicting child sex abuse. Frank Pollaro, age 55, of Deer Park, pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child in Suffolk County Court on Thursday, July 11.
