A German Shepherd and Pitbull got loose from a Park Ridge home Wednesday evening, April 16, Montvale Police Capt. Alisha Foley confirmed.  The two larger dogs then attacked a Maltese being walked by a man on Raven Road in Montvale, killing the Maltese and leaving the walker with a laceration on his hand, according to Foley and Montvale Police Chief Doug McDowell. Woman Attacked By Dog At Long Island Home A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition.  The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

Emergency crews were called to a Hicksville residence on Lantern Road for a dog bite at around 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15. Nassau County Police said officers found a girl and two women suffering from bites. They also located two dogs inside the home.
