Pedestrian Critical After Strike By Toyota In Freeport: Police A 40-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a Toyota Scion while crossing a road in Freeport, police announced on Tuesday, Dec. 10. The crash happened near the intersection of Merrick Road and Guy Lombardo Boulevard on Monday, Dec. 9, at 7:09 p.m., according to detectives with the Nassau County Homicide Squad. 34-Year-Old Dies From Injuries Month After Nassau County Crash A man critically injured in a fiery crash on Long Island has died from his injuries, authorities announced Monday morning, Nov. 11. Richard Sorrentino, age 34, of Queens, was pronounced dead by hospital staff on Friday, Nov. 8, Nassau County Police said. The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 12, around 6:55 p.m. in Bellmore. Sorrentino was riding a black motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway near Rose Place when he struck a bicyclist attempting to cross the roadway. 20-Year-Old Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Cars, Tree In Elmont A motorist was airlifted to the hospital after slamming into several cars and a tree on a Long Island roadway. The crash occurred at 4:30 pm on Thursday, Oct. 17, in Elmont. A 20-year-old driver of a 1999 red Honda struck two parked cars and a tree on Carnegie Avenue., causing the vehicle to overturn.  The man suffered multiple trauma injuries and was transported by Nassau County Helicopter 6 to a local area hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  Check back to Daily Voice for updates.
