Woman Attacked By Dog At Nassau County Home A woman is recovering after being attacked by a dog on Long Island. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, in Elmont. Nassau County Police officers responding to the Newburgh Street residence found the 81-year-old had suffered multiple lacerations to various parts of her body.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and treatment of her injuries. She is currently listed in stable condition.  The Nassau County Emergency Service Unit (ESU) responded and secured the animals. The investigation is ongoing.

Stabbing Leads To Attempted Murder Charge For Long Island Man A man is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly stabbing a victim on Long Island. The incident happened at a residence in Inwood at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28. Nassau County Police said officers arrived at the home and found a 34-year-old man lying on the front lawn with a sheet wrapped around his arm, which was bleeding. An investigation determined that Jose Antonio Cruz, age 50, of Inwood, got into an argument with the man earlier in the day. The altercation escalated and Cruz stabbed the man, police said.
