15-Year-Old Stabbed Teen Who Tried To Break Up Fight At LI Mall, Police Say Nearly a month after a teenager was stabbed during a fight at a Long Island mall, a suspect is behind bars. The incident happened in Lake Grove, outside the food court at Smith Haven Mall, just before 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, as Daily Voice reported. Suffolk County Police said a small group of people got into a fight and a 16-year-old boy who tried to break it up was stabbed. Group Steals Dog For Ransom On Long Island: Police Five juveniles were arrested after police say they stole a woman’s dog and held it for ransom. The alleged theft occurred in Elmont on Wednesday, May 29, according to Nassau County Police. Just before 6 p.m., a 34-year-old Elmont woman noticed that her Pekingese dog was missing. She then received a text message, which included a picture of five young men holding her dog. The group wrote “$500” under the photo. Then, she received a call from an unknown number.
