Students At Kellenberg HS Forced To Wait Outside As Police Search For Bombs Police on Long Island say the bomb threat made against a high school was a hoax.  Kellenberg Memorial High School, at 1400 Glenn Curtiss Blvd., in Uniondale was alerted to the call just after 7 a.m., Nassau County authorities said.  The call was made anonymously to the 988 Lifeline, a suicide and crisis hotline. The caller claimed to have planted bombs around the school grounds.  Police and Homeland Security agents had teachers and students wait outside until they deemed the area safe.  Officers are investigating who made the call.

Suspect At Large After Man Shot In Face In Broad Daylight In Syosset A suspect is on the loose after a shooting in broad daylight on Long Island. It happened around 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, in Syosset near 225 Underhill Blvd.  Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 34-year-old man had sustained a gunshot wound to the face, Nassau County Police said. Human Remains Found Behind Lowe's Store In East Garden City An investigation is underway after human remains were found behind a Long Island Lowe's store. Nassau County Police received a 911 call at around 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, reporting possible remains in the wooded area in East Garden City, in the rear of 700 Dibblee Drive, near the Meadowbrook Parkway.  Upon arrival, officers noticed an abandoned encampment and discovered human remains.  The Nassau County PD Homicide Squad and the Medical Examiner responded to the scene.  The body was removed from the scene and brought to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination.…

54-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Brentwood Police are investigating a fatal overnight crash on a Long Island roadway. It happened around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, in Brentwood. A 54-year-old man was crossing 5th Avenue at Kirk Road when he was struck by a northbound 1998 Nissan Pathfinder, according to Suffolk County Police. Teen In Critical Condition Following Long Island Crash A 17-year-old was airlifted to a nearby hospital after a freeway crash, police said. It happened in Plainview on Tuesday, July 2. According to Nassau County Police, the teen boy was driving north on Route 135 in a 1998 Toyota Corolla. Just before 4:15 p.m., he collided with a 26-year-old woman, also driving north, in a 2013 Range Rover. He was taken via helicopter to a local hospital for treatment, where he is currently listed in critical condition. The other driver remained at the scene and no other injuries were reported. Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Bomb Threat At Long Island Court Came From Outside US: Police Police are continuing to investigate a bomb threat sent to a Long Island courthouse. It happened at about 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 17 in Southampton. According to local police, the Southampton Town Justice Court received multiple emails regarding a bomb threat. The threats prompted officers, detectives, and K-9 units to check the court and surrounding areas, which determined the area to be clear. Investigators said the email may have originated from outside the United States and is not linked to the Southampton Court. However, police said the investigation will remain ongoing.
