Tropical Depression Cindy Expected To Impact Hudson Valley

The sunny skies and comfortable temperatures Hudson Valley residents enjoyed Thursday will give way to a stormy pattern associated with Tropical Depression Cindy.

"Cindy will continue to move northward into Thursday evening before a curve to the northeast occurs on Thursday night and Friday," AccuWeather.com Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski said.

Cindy made landfall as a tropical storm near the Texas-Louisiana border early Thursday morning. It is expected to weaken as it moves north toward Tennessee and Kentucky by Friday night.

Stronger thunderstorms on Friday have the potential to produce isolated damaging wind gusts, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of overnight showers and thunderstorms starts overnight Thursday into Friday at around 1 a.m. That will be followed by patchy fog from about 4 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Friday will be a mostly cloudy day with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and evening. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain and gusty winds. Friday's high temperature will be in the low-80s.

Showers are likely Saturday with thunderstorms again possible. The high will be in the low- to mid-80s.

It will clear up Sunday with sunny skies and a high around 80.
