Head-On Crash: Children Among 5 Injured In Hudson Valley Five people, including two children, were injured in a head-on crash in the Hudson Valley. The collision took place in Orange County around 7 a.m., Monday, Aug. 14 in the area of Route 17K and Dealer Driver in the town of Newburgh. Man Arrested For Beating Mother, Causing Serious Injuries, State Police Say A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother causing serious injuries. Ulster County resident Paul Morris, 31, of Esopus, was arrested on Monday, March 16, by New York State Police after troopers responded to a home in Esopus for a reported 911 hang up all, said Trooper Steven Nevel. When troopers arrived at the home they found 62-year-old Beverly Friedman with injuries to her face, said Nevel. While at the home, troopers interviewed Morris who said that his mother suffered from numerous illnesses and was multiple medications that caused her to pass out, Nevel said. …

Three Severely Burned, Dog KIlled In Beacon House Fire Three people received severe burns after running down a staircase through fire, and another jumped from a second-story window in an effort to escape flames ripping through their home. According to City of Beacon Fire Chief Gary VanVoorhis, the fire department received a 911 call regarding a house fire around 4:45 a.m. at 98 Rombout Ave., with occupants trapped inside.
